This page contains information of a general nature for all Local 227 members.  It is an entry point into the Member-Only Areas where you will find more specific information about your collective bargaining agreement and issues which effect your company and industry. Be sure and read the FAQ's under the Information Link on the sidebar.

Kroger members will also find Department Head, Assistant Department Head and Lead job openings posted in the Retail Blog. The areas are Retail, Packing and Processing, Garment, Manufacturing and Stewards. The Retail Blog where as new items are posted older items are archived. You can search the archives for needed information on a particular issue or by date. There is a copy of your contract in PDF format that can be viewed or downloaded to print. The Stewards have their own area where helpful information for Stewards can be found. 

This Link is the sign up page for the Members-Only Area. On the sidebar are the links to the Members-Only Areas.You must be registered to view these pages and only Local 227 members may register.  If you are unsure of your industry here is a directory . Once you have submitted your information in the sign up area you will receive your member number (password) within 24 hours but generally sooner. Your email address will become the user ID and your member number will be the password. The user id is also case sensitive so be sure and login the same way that you signed up. Encourage other members to register.

Periodically we send items of interest to our members.  If you would like to receive Local 227 E-News  be sure to check the E-mail Newsletter box at the bottom of the sign up page.

As a union member you are entitled to many discounts from a vast number of businesses. A link to those are on the sidebar along with links for Humana, Delta Dental and Avesis.

National Pension Fund

If you are a member of the National Pension Fund (Kroger, Banks, Morning Star & Southern Belle Dairy employees) you can now access general Fund documents, forms and information, as well as access to records and information, in a secure environment by use of a user name and password. The website will allow both active and retired participants to download application forms to complete and send, apply online or obtain benefit information. You can click on the link in the "Benefit Links" in blue on the left side or click here to go to their website.

UFCW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The UFCW Scholarship Program application is now available online. To assist you in spreading the word about scholarships available to your members from the UFCW International Union, we've attached break room flyers in English, French and Spanish. Union Scholarships Available

Are you or a family member looking to further your education? If you are, there are union scholarships available from Local 227 that non-traditional students may apply for as well as traditional students. The scholarships for 2006-2007 year have been awarded. The State of Indiana has an excellent web site for students planning on going to college and Union Plus has information to help you plan for school and where to look for scholarships. Kroger Louisville KMA Job Openings Available

Department Head, Assistant Department Head and Lead openings are posted in the Retail Blog. Click on the sidebar of the blog the item Kroger Jobs Open for Bid. The postings list the position available, the effective date of the opening and the closing date for bidding. Instructions for bidding are also available on the page and the appropriate form can also be downloaded to complete.

The postings are informational only and bids must still be made in the manner spelled out in the contract. Do not email the company or the union job bids - follow the instructions or review the contract for the correct method.
